IS IT PAINFUL?

We do all that we can to ensure that the process is as comfortable as possible and often clients say they feel no pain at all, although please be aware that everyone’s pain threshold varies.

Before the Microblading treatment begins, a topical anesthetic is applied to the area to minimize discomfort.  Some clients may feel a slight discomfort which has been described as a light cat scratch, while many say it is relatively pain free. After the procedure, slight redness and slight swelling in the area is normal.
(PLEASE NOTE that if you are a frequent smoker, or have your appointment during your menstrual cycle, the pain level could be intensified.)

WHAT CAN I EXPECT FROM THE PROCEDURE?

We will start by drawing / mapping the outline of your brow with a cosmetic pencil, based on the specific measurements of your face.  You will have a chance to see and approve this shape before the treatment takes place.  We will also discuss and agree the pigment shade, at this time the topical anesthetic is applied and the process will begin once the numbing has taken place. We always use a disposable tool and create the strokes by going in the same direction of your natural hair. It is typical that we will need to go over each stroke twice to ensure the pigment is placed correctly under the skin but depending on your skin type we may be required to do this more than twice to prevent the strokes from disappearing during the healing process.

HOW LONG WILL IT LAST, HOW SEMI PERMANENT IS IT?

Technically, semi-permanent micro-pigmentation is considered permanent because the colour is implanted into the upper dermal layer of the skin and cannot be washed off. However, the pigment is implanted more superficially than a traditional tattoo, so it naturally fades over time, which is beneficial in the long run as your tone and face shape will also alter over time so your treatment can be adapted to suit your face.

HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE?

The process will take around 3 hours and the majority of this time will be spent mapping your ideal shape and ensuring the brows are symmetrical.  The anesthetic also takes time to numb the area.  The actual process of creating the individual hair strokes should take around 1 hour.

HOW DO YOU CHOOSE THE SHAPE AND COLOUR?

The pigment is chosen on the day to match the natural eyebrow colour and your skin tone.  The shape is measured based on your own unique features so no two pairs of brows are exactly the same. If you have a preferred shape in mind then please bring photos or feel free to come with your brows made-up as you would usually wear them and we will use this as a guide.

WHY IS THE TOUCH UP REQUIRED AND WHEN CAN I HAVE IT?

During the first 4 weeks you will lose up to 10 to 15 % of the drawn strokes as the skin takes time to settle. We recommend a touch up appointment 6-10 weeks after your first appointment, so that we can add any strokes which have faded and make any adjustments to the shape and colour if requested.

CAN I EXERCISE AFTER HAVING MICROBLADING?

,

You must avoid working out for 7 days after your appointment.  Light exercise is allowed, however, you should be aware that salt will fade the pigment very quickly and lead to poor results, therefore sweating should always be avoided.
